Let's go to Bethlehem!

This carol is distinctly upbeat. I don't remember how it started except that the words of the title spring straight out of Luke 2. The tune is remarkably catchy, the sort people will leave a service humming. The two-line verse is designed for fast close harmony with almost any choir as it is scored Soprano/Alto/Men. This gets over the awful problems when there are simply not enough men to go around. Again both words and music are my copyright. Let's go to Bethlehem! was first performed at Worth church in East Kent in 1998. Very minor alterations to the words have been made since then.

This is part of the refrain.
