You're there!
This is an
exciting and lively work. It has three verses and refrain and moves easily
to a very singable tune which I reproduce here in part. It is based on Romans
8:38-39,
For
I am convinced that neither death nor life, neither angels nor
demons,
neither the present nor the future, nor any powers, neither height
nor depth,
nor anything else in all creation, will be able to separate us from
the love of God
that is in Christ Jesus our Lord. NIV |
and Psalm 139
and other psalms.
Where
can I go from your Spirit? Where can I flee from your presence?
If I go up to the heavens, you are there; if I make my bed in the
depths, you are there.
If I rise on the wings of the dawn, if I settle on the far side of
the sea,
Even there your hand will guide me, your right hand will hold me
fast. NIV |
I started to write the music in
August 2006 then found the words a little difficult to fit initially. Unusually the refrain finds the last words of each line
rhyming together. After minor alterations it has been sung successfully on a
small number of occasions
For I know you'll always
be there,
Where there's never fear or despair.
You are ev'rything I need, to have and to share.
So I come before you in prayer;
Where your love replaces my care;
It surrounds me always, ev'ry hour, ev'rywhere.
You're there!
